Dordt College Baseball vs. Wayland Baptist

(Tucson, Arizona) Wayland Baptist broke up a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning and won a 3-1 decision over the Dordt Defenders in game two of their doubleheader in Tucson, Arizona on Tuesday, March 12.
The Defenders got the first run of the day when Aaron Parks had a line out to rightfield that scored Nate Fraley. Dordt stranded a runner at third in the inning and that 1-0 score stood until the bottom of the fifth when Wayland Baptist pieced together a double, stolen base and single for a 1-1 tie.
The home team then scored two off of Dordt starter Mark Nyhoff in the bottom of the sixth, capitalizing on two hits for the 3-1 lead. Dordt did get the tying run to the plate in the seventh but couldn't extend the inning in falling to 2-2 for the season with the two run loss.
Nyhoff went the distance with three runs allowed on one walk, six hits and he struck out six. Dordt was outhit 6-2 and their two hits came in the first inning by Fraley and Serrato.
