(Sioux Center, Iowa) Austin Casperson held Dordt without a hit in game two of their doubleheader in Sioux Center as the Defenders fell to the Doane Tigers in Great Plains Athletic Conference play on Saturday 2-0.

Dordt got a runner to third in the third inning when Mark Lyzenga advanced on a sacrifice and grounder but was left 90 feet short of scoring. Aaron Parks was left at second in the first innign after walking and stealing a base. Dordt also had a base runner in the sixth.

The Defenders surrendered an unearned run each in the fourth and fifth innings as Jake Slings took the loss for the Defenders. Slings struck out two and walked none in the complete game decision.

Casperson walked three batters and struck out seven in the no-hitter.

Dordt is 4-13 overall and 2-6 in the GPAC. Doane is 5-3 in the league and 20-13 overall. Dordt travels to Manhattan Christian and Central Christian on Tuesday and Wednesday before returning to league play on Friday and Saturday at Nebraska Wesleyan and Concordia.
