Dordt College Baseball vs. Jamestown

(Tucson, Arizona) Jamestown scored three runs in the second and three in the fifth on the way to a 6-2 win over the Dordt Defenders on Monday, March 11 in Tucson, Arizona.
The Defenders were limited to one hit in the first six frames, getting runners as far as second in two innings.
Dustin Brisel doubled to lead off the inning and Sam De Nooy ran for him. After a fielder's choice took Brisel off the bases. Mark Lyzenga doubled in Jon Holwerda. Dordt got another unearned run off an error that scored Dane Le Platt but the inning ended with the bases loaded down 6-2.
Jake Slings took the Defenders with six runs allowed on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts. Josh Peterson pitched the final inning and a third and walked one with a strikeout. Four different players had one hit each with Dordt stranding six and Jamestown five. Two of Dordt's four hits were doubles by Dustin Brisel and Mark Lyzenga.
Dordt is now 1-1 heading into a doubleheader on Tuesday against Wayland Baptist.
