Dordt College Baseball vs. Albright (PA)

(Phoenix, Arizona (South Mountain Community College)) Dordt College was done in by a six run fourth inning by Albright in game one of their doubleheader at Chandler, Arizona on Tuesday, March 13. The Defenders ended up falling 11-4.

Dordt took a 3-2 lead after the second inning when Eric Torgerson singled in Dane Le Platt from third and Jason Wapnick clubbed a double that scored Torgerson and Mark Lyzenga. The Defenders were up 4-3 after the third when Travis Dekkers scored on a ground out to break a 3-3 tie.

The Defenders were done in by a six run, seven hit fourth inning and Albright tacked on two more runs in the seventh inning for the final of 11-4.

Dordt was outhit 16-6 with Mark Nyhoff taking the loss in three and two-thirds innings of work. Six different players had base hits with Dustin Brisel, Dane Le Platt and Jason Wapnick registering doubles.
