Dordt College Baseball vs. Dakota State

(Madison, South Dakota) Dakota State beat Dordt College 16-5 in non-conference baseball in Madison, South Dakota on Tuesday night.

The Trojans banged out 14 hits on the way to multiple runs in each of their first five turns on offense while Dordt got two runs in the second inning. Dordt was outhit 21-11.

Eric Anderson and Jason Wapnick both reached on singles to start the Dordt threat in the second and scored on a Eric Torgerson single and Ryan Bridgewater sacrifice fly. The Defenders got a single run in the sixth when Anderson homered for the first time this season. The Defenders got two more in the seventh when Travis Dekkers hit a homerun that scored Nick Serrato who had reached on a walk.

Jeremy Engbers started the game and gave up five runs on five hits in two innings. Ryan Baas came on in relief and was charged with seven runs and Josh Van Kekerix went the final two frames.

Eric Anderson had three hits while Serrato and Torgerson each had two.
