Dordt College Baseball vs. Dakota Wesleyan

(Mesa, Arizona (Gene Autry Park)) Lucas Carls went the distance on the mound and Dordt put together a pair of three run innings in taking a 7-3 win over Dakota Wesleyan and forced a split of a doubleheader with the Tigers in Arizona on Saturday, March 12.
Dordt allowed one run in the first but came back for three in the third. A wild pitch scored Eric Anderson and a passed ball got Alex Frankl in. Phillip Sears tripled in Travis Dekkers for the third run of the frame.
Wesleyan responded with a run to make it 3-2 but the Defenders had another three run inning in the fifth.
Phillip Sears struck for a triple that again scored Dekkers and Tyler Comella had a double that got two runs in. The two teams traded runs in the sixth with Dordt getting theirs on a Zach Staudt single that got Alex Frankl in.
Dordt had nine hits with Sears and Dekkers each getting a pair--Sears had two triples. Frankl and Dekkers both scored a pair of runs.
Carls went the distance with six hits allowed and he struck out nine with one base on balls.
Dordt is 1-3 and will face Valley City State on Monday, March 14.
