Dordt College Baseball vs. Dakota Wesleyan

(Mesa, Arizona (Gene Autry Park)) A six run third inning gave Dakota Wesleyan a cushion they would ride in for a win on Saturday afternoon in Arizona over the Dordt College Defenders.
Dordt fought back to close the gap to 6-4 after four innings but allowed a run in the fifth and four more in the sixth in dropping the 11-4 decision. Dordt scored their one run in the third when Morgan Halpert was hit by a pitch and eventually came around to score on a Zach Staudt base hit.
Dordt got three back in the fourth with Morgan Halpert and Jon Holwerda each knocking in a run with singles and Travis Dekkers had a ground rule double that plated a run to make it 6-4. A run in the fifth pushed the difference to 7-4 and the Tigers stretched it to an 11-4 final with four more in the sixth.
Dordt was out hit 9-8 and committed four errors that resulted in three unearned runs for Dakota Wesleyan.
Patrick Sinnema took the loss while allowing six runs on three hits with three strikeouts in three innings.
Travis Dekkers had two hits and a run batted in with a single and a double. Morgan Halpert scored a pair of runs while reaching on via walk and hit batsman. Six other Defenders had a single each.
Dakota Wesleyan's Joey Fitzger allowed four runs on seven hits in four innings of work on the mound while taking the win.
