Dordt College Baseball vs. Nebraska Wesleyan

(Lincoln, Nebraska) Dordt scored four runs in the first inning but surrendered five in the bottom half of the inning in dropping game two of the doubleheader with the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves 10-4.
Dordt banged out five hits in the first inning with Travis Dekkers and Zach Staudt knocking in a run each with back to back doubles and Eric Torgerson and Brandon Van Engen each had run scoring singles to make it 4-0.
The hosts struck for five runs on six hits in their half of the inning and held Dordt at bay the rest of the game, scoring one in the second and four more in the fifth for the 10-4 final.
Both teams had 12 hits with Dordt stranding two in the third and seventh.
Travis Dekkers was 3-4 with two doubles and a single adn Brandon Van Engen was 3-4 with three singles. Phillip Sears was 2-4 with a run scored and a triple while Eric Torgerson had a pair of singles.
Patrick Sinnema took the loss in four and a third innings of work with one walk and four strikeouts. Ryan Baas went the final inning and two-thirds and struck out one with no runs allowed.
Dordt is 1-11 and 2-21 while Wesleyan is 7-19 and 3-9. Dordt is scheduled to host Briar Cliff on Friday night in doubleheader action.
