Dordt College Baseball vs. Dakota Wesleyan

(Sioux Center, Iowa) Dordt College dropped a 2-0, eight inning decision to Dakota Wesleyan in game one of a doubleheader in Sioux Center, Iowa on Thursday, April 28.
The Defenders missed several opportunities in the early innings, getting runners as far as second in four frames, but couldn't get the timely hit. Meanwhile, Lucas Carls was keeping the Tigers off balance and took a four hit shutout into the eighth inning. Wesleyan finally broke through when two singles and an error loaded the bases. John Greicar delivered a one out double that scored two runs for the winning margin as Dordt was retired in order in the eighth inning.
Brandon Van Engen and Eric Anderson each had two hits as Dordt outhit the visitors 7-6. Carls took the loss after allowing six hits, walked two and struck out seven.
