Dordt College Baseball vs. Sioux Falls

(Sioux Center, Iowa) Dordt College scored two in the second inning but offense ended up being hard to come by in a 7-2 loss to the Sioux Falls Cougars on Wednesday night in Sioux Center, Iowa. The game was the second of a doubleheader originally scheduled to be played in Sioux Falls, South Dakota but was re-scheduled and moved several times due to inclimate weather and poor field conditions in Sioux Falls.
Dordt's two runs came in when Sam De Nooy knocked a double with the bases loaded. Dordt ended the inning with the bases loaded before they could take more of a lead.
Sioux Falls pecked away at the lead with a run in the third inning on three hits and got another in the fourth to tie the game.
Sioux Falls took the lead with a four run uprising in the fifth on three hits and an error and got one more in the sixth.
Dordt was outhit 10-5 with five different players getting one hit each. Travis Dekkers and De Nooy each had one hit while Tyler Comella, Morgan Halpert and Jon Holwerda all had singles.
Patrick Sinnema took the loss for Dordt with ten hits allowed over six innings and surrendered five earned runs with two strikeouts and four walks issued. Derek Fischer earned the win for Sioux Falls.
Dordt is 3-27 overall and 2-16 in the conference with doubleheaders ahead against Dakota Wesleyan on Thursday and Northwestern on Saturday. Sioux Falls is 20-15 overall and 11-7 in the league.
