(Clearwater, Florida) The Trinity (Illinois) Trolls averted a doubleheader sweep in Florida on Monday in taking game two from the Defenders 11-1 in five innings. Dordt was outhit 12-5 in the affair and committed three errors while allowing ten earned runs.

Dordt got on the board with a run in the first with Kyle Davis singling and Travis Dekkers followed with a single that was misplayed and both runners advanced a base each. After a walk to Tony Asta to load the bases Nathan Fraley was able to work for a walk and pushed a run in. A flyout ended the inning and Dordt was up 1-0.

Three up and three down ensued for the Trolls in the bottom of the first but Dordt came up empty in the second with a runner stranded at second. Trinity then plated four runs in the second and plated six more in the third on a combined ten hits and Dordt never got on track again.

Dordt got two hits from Travis Dekkers--both of them singles. Kyle Davis, Josh Bowers and Robbi Garcia all had a single each. Jensen Callaway absorbed the loss in the start while giving up five hits in two and two-thirds innings. Mark Nyhoff pitched in relief and was not involved in the decision.

The Defenders are 3-3 and are scheduled to play two more games on Tuesday, March 16 in Clearwater, Florida.
