Dordt College Baseball vs. Viterbo

(Minneapolis, Minnesota (Metrodome)) The Dordt Defenders dropped a two run decision in game two of their doubleheader at the Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Friday morning despite outhitting the Viterbo V-Hawks. Dordt lost the 4-2 decision and never led.
Viterbo scored two runs off of Dordt starter Kyle Dieleman in the top of the first. Dordt responded with a run in the first with Travis Feekes scoring after tripling to lead off the Dordt half of the inning. Viterbo staked themselves to a 4-1 lead with two runs in the sixth inning and Dordt's rally in the bottom of the seventh fell short when they scored one run for the final of 4-2.
Feekes was 1-4 with a run scored while Travis Dekkers, Morgan Halpert and Eric Torgerson all went 1-3 with singles. Zach Staudt had a double and a run scored and Phillip Sears knocked in a run with a single. Evan Pheneger reached twice with a double and a base on balls.
Dieleman was charged with the loss after allowing two runs on four hits and four walks with two strikeouts. Dieleman worked four innings before giving way to Ryan Baas who pitched three innings and allowed two runs on two hits with two strikeouts and no walks.
Dordt is 0-2 and will face Northwestern on Saturday, February 7 beginning at 7:30 in the morning.
