Dordt College Baseball vs. Northwestern

(Sioux Center, Iowa) Dordt College lost a 6-2 decision to Northwestern in game one of their doubleheader in Sioux Center, Iowa, Saturday, April 25 in conference baseball action.
The game was closer than the final score indicates with the difference at 3-1 in the top of the seventh with two outs when Curtis Bomgaars wrapped a homerun inside the left field foul pole to put Northwestern up 6-1.
Northwestern scored the first three runs of the game with a run in each of the second, fourth and fifth innings. Dordt got a run in the sixth on a Travis Feekes single followed by a Dillon Peters double to knock Feekes in. Dordt left the bases loaded in the inning, allowing Northwestern to play with the lead in the seventh. Dordt did score a run in the home half of the inning when Eric Anderson doubled and moved up on a Zach Staudt ground out. Travis Feekes then knocked him in with a ground out for the final of 6-2.
Patrick Sinnema took the loss after working the complete game and gave up six runs on eight hits while striking out four. Trevor Kuiper was the winning pitcher and struck out six in the complete game.
Dordt's Dillon Peters was 2-4 with a double and a run batted in while Eric Anderson was 2-3 with a run scored and a double. Feekes, Josh Bowers and Morgan Halpert accounted for Dordt's other three hits.
