Dordt College Baseball vs. Sioux Falls

(Sioux Falls, South Dakota) The Sioux Falls Cougars made it a sweep of the Dordt College Defenders in Great Plains Athletic Conference baseball action on Friday night in Sioux Falls. The Cougars erupted for six runs in the fourth inning after getting a run in each of the first two frames for all the offense they needed.
Dordt's two runs came in the fifth with Eric Torgerson and Morgan Halpert singling and both scored on a Zach Staudt single.
Cameron Gagnon was the pitcher of record for Dordt with three and a third innings of work. The freshman was tagged for six runs and walked two while striking out four and allowing seven hits. Kyle Dieleman toiled the final two and two thirds and gave up two runs and struck out one.
Dordt was outhit 12-7 with two base hits each by Travis Dekkers and Zach Staudt while Dillon Peters, Eric Torgerson and Morgan Halpert all had one hit each.
Dordt slides to 3-19 in the GPAC and 9-32 overall. The Defenders will conclude the season on Saturday, April 25 when they host Northwestern at 1:00.
