Dordt College Baseball vs. Sioux Falls

(Sioux Falls, South Dakota) Dordt College lost a 12-4 decision to the Sioux Falls Cougars on Friday night in Great Plains Athletic Conference play. The Defenders got behind 7-0 after two innings and couldn't make up the difference in the seven inning contest.
Dordt scored one in the third when Morgan Halpert walked and Eric Anderson singled. A Travis Feekes fielder's choice put runners at the corners and Dillon Peters delivered an rbi single to make it 7-1. The Defenders then plated a run in the fourth with Ben Fife singling and Eric Torgerson singled to put runners at first and third. Evan Pheneger then reached on a error that scored the run. Dordt got to within 7-3 on a run in the fifth but two in the fifth and three in the sixth made it 12-3 before a Zach Staudt solo homerun to lead off the seventh inning made it 12-4.
Dordt was out hit13-9 with Staudt going 2-3 with two runs scored and one run batted in. Travis Dekkers was 2-4 while Travis Feekes delivered a single for his 100th career base hit. Fife, Dillon Peters, Eric Torgerson and Eric Anderson all had hits as well for the Dordt attack.
Nate De Wit takes the loss going one a third inning with five hits and seven runs allowed with four walks and one strikeout. Ryan Baas went four and two-thirds and walked three and struck out three and was charged with five runs.
