Dordt College Baseball vs. Concordia

(Seward, Nebraska) Dordt College suffered a 7-4 loss in game two of their doubleheader with Concordia on Friday evening in Seward, Nebraska. The Defenders led 4-3 going to the bottom of the sixth but allowed four runs in the inning and couldn't get enough offense in the seventh in dropping the three run game.
Dordt fell behind 3-1 after Concordia got two in the first and one in the second. Dordt's run came in the first when Travis Feekes reached on a single and Evan Pheneger knocked him in from third on a single after Feekes stole second and advanced to third on a ground out. Dordt got two in the third when Phillip Sears walked with the bases full and Eric Anderson walked as well with no room to tie it at 3-3.
Dordt took a 4-3 lead in the fifth with Eric Torgerson doubling. Sears reached on an error and Patrick Sinnema, running for Torgerson, advanced to third. Dordt got the run in on a double steal where Sears ran with Eric Anderson striking out looking and Sinnema scored on the throw to second. Concordia got four runs on six hits in the sixth inning to get the win an improved to 6-12 in the conference while Dordt fell to 3-15.
Dordt got two hits from Travis Feekes, Josh Bowers and Evan Pheneger. Bowers, Dekkers and Torgerson both had doubles for the Defenders.
Chase Dieleman worked the sixth inning and takes the loss while Cameron Gagnon went five innings and allowed three runs on three hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
Dordt will face Midland Lutheran on Monday afternoon in Fremont, Nebraska beginning at 4:30.
