Dordt College Baseball vs. Nebraska Wesleyan

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender baseball team lost a 7-0 decision to the GPAC front running Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves on Saturday afternoon, April 11 in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Wesleyan struck for two runs in the second and three in the third, getting two homeruns in the stretch with Brady Beckman slugging one in the second with a runner on and Max Hubka led the third off with a solo shot.
Nate De Wit gave way to Eric Torgerson on the mound and Torgerson pitched out of a jam in the fifth inning but was touched for a pair of runs in the sixth for the final of 7-0. Dordt had two scoring opportunities in the first two frames when they got two runners on by error in the first inning and had another two runners on in the second inning but couldn't get the timely hit.
Dordt was outhit 11-3 with Dordt's hits coming on a Morgan Halpert single in the second, a Travis Feekes single in the sixth and a Josh Bowers double in the seventh.
Nate De Wit took the loss after allowing five runs on eight hits with a walk and four strikeouts. Eric Torgerson pitched the final two and two-thirds and allowed two runs on three hits with two strikeouts.
Josh Ostrom scattered three hits for the Prairie Wolves and got the win with five strikeouts and three hits allowed.
