Dordt College Baseball vs. Dakota Wesleyan

(Sioux Center, Iowa) Dakota Wesleyan used a five run third inning to take control of their Great Plains Athletic Conference baseball game with Dordt College on Thursday afternoon in Sioux Center.
The Tigers led 6-1 after five innings and tacked on one in the sixth and four more in the seventh for an 11-1 decision. Wesleyan out hit the Defenders 8-5 and took advantage of five Defender miscues in the field for three unearned runs.
Dordt's run came in the fifth inning when Morgan Halpert and Eric Torgerson were both hit by a pitch. Phillip Sears followed with a sacrifice bunt and a Dillon Peters ground out scored Halpert from third. Peters had two hits in the game while Ben Fife, Travis Feekes and Evan Pheneger each had 1-3 days at the plate.
Patrick Sinnema was the losing pitcher as he worked 6 1/3 innings with seven hits allowed, seven walks and two strikeouts. Wesleyan's Rich Wiese was the winning pitcher as he scattered five hits in six innings of work. Mark Wood was 2-3 at the plate for the Tigers with two runs scored.
