Dordt College Baseball vs. Hastings

(Hastings, Nebraska) Dordt College lost a 5-2 decision in game one of their doubleheader with Hastings on Saturday in Hastings, Nebraska. Dordt gave up two runs in the second and two in the third and never got out of the hole in dropping the three-run decision.
Dordt got one run in the fifth inning when Josh Bowers doubled to lead off the inning and he moved to third on a sacrifice. A Travis Feekes groundout scored the run. Hastings got the run back in the fifth and Dordt ended the scoring with a run in the seventh frame when Eric Torgerson doubled and Jared Rayes scored on an error after taking Torgerson's spot at second base. Dordt worked their way to a bases loaded situation but a line-out to right field with the tying run at first ended the game.
Kyle Dieleman started the game and takes the loss after giving up seven hits and four runs--two of them earned. He walked one and struck out one. Ryan Baas came on in relief and allowed two hits and one run over three and a third innings of work.
Dordt was out-hit 9-4 and got base hits by Feekes, Travis Dekkers, Torgerson and Bowers. Torgerson and Bowers accounted for a double each.
