Dordt College Baseball vs. Doane

(Crete, Nebraska) Dordt College earned a 4-2 win in their Great Plains Athletic Conference opener with Doane College on Friday afternoon in Crete, Nebraska. The Defenders outhit the Tigers 10-7 in the win and got a complete game victory from Patrick Sinnema on the mound for their sixth win of the season.
Dordt got on the board in the first inning when Travis Feekes singled and Dillon Peters walked. Evan Pheneger then walked to load the bases and Feekes scored on a ground out for the run. Dordt got another in the third when Peters singled and advanced on an error and Eric Torgerson knocked him in for a 2-0 lead. Doane got a run back in the bottom of the frame but two more in the fourth gave the Defenders all the runs they needed. Feekes knocked in Chase Dieleman with a double and Peters singled in Feekes.
Sinnema went the distance and gave up two runs with one walk and six strikeouts while Feekes and Peters went a combined 4-5 at the top of the Dordt lineup. Ben Fife also had a pair of hits for the Defenders and Feekes scored two runs. Peters had two walks to go along with his two hits.
