Dordt College Baseball vs. Manhattan Christian

(Manhattan, Kansas) The Dordt baseball swept out Manhattan Christian in game two of their doubleheader on Thursday afternoon in Kansas by a one-sided 19-4 decision.
Dordt scored two in the first but gave three runs right back in the bottom of the frame. The Defenders then got three in the second and five in the third and ended the game with nine runs in the top of the fifth inning.
The Defenders smacked it around for 17 hits and took advantage of six Manhattan Christian fielding miscues. Travis Feekes and Dillon Peters each were 4-4 with Feekes scoring five and walking once and he had a double. Peters knocked in seven with a homerun and three singles and he scored three runs. Travis Dekkers and Eric Anderson both had three hits with Dekkers knocking in two. Anderson scored three runs and two runs batted in with two doubles and Jared Rayes was 2-3 with four runs scored and two runs batted in.
Bryan Diemer went the distance with eight hits allowed and four runs given up. The junior allowed two earned runs and had four walks with two strikeouts. Brandon Roth was the losing pitcher and gave up 13 hits and ten runs.
Dordt and Manhattan Christian are scheduled to play again on Friday, February 27 in another doubleheader. Dordt is 2-4 while Manhattan Christian falls to 0-6.
