Dordt College Baseball vs. Toccoa Falls

(Lakeland, Florida) The Dordt College Defenders lost a non-conference baseball game with Toccoa Falls in a contest played in Lakeland, Florida by a final score of 8-7.
The Defenders scored first when Evan Pheneger doubled and came around to score on a Jed Bennett single. Travis Feekes later knocked in two with a double for a 3-0 lead. Toccoa Falls rounded up four runs in the third inning only to have Dordt recover for a 5-4 lead when Bobby Lutke doubled in Travis De Jong and Daryl Visser knocked in Lutke with a single.
Toccoa Falls retook the lead in the bottom of the fifth and the Defenders knotted the game with a run in the sixth when Lutke singled in Morgan Halpert but the go ahead run was stranded at third. Toccoa Falls then pulled ahead for good with two runs in the sixth for an 8-6 win.
Dordt outhit Toccoa Falls 12-9 in the loss with Travis Feekes going 3-5 with two doubles and two runs batted in. Lutke was 3-4 with a run scored and two runs batted in--one of his hits was a double. Bryan Diemer went five innings and allowed six hits and six runs--two of which were earned with one strikeout. Keith Kooistra took the loss and was charged with two runs.
Dordt is now 3-6 and return home to face Dana in GPAC play on Friday, March 21 at Blair, Nebraska.
