Dordt College Baseball vs. Hastings

(Hastings, Nebraska) Hastings banged out 14 hits in game two of their doubleheader with Dordt College in Hastings, Nebraska to take a 14-3 win over the Defenders in GPAC play to force a split of the Saturday doubleheader.
Hastings scored five in the first two frames for a 5-1 lead. Hastings got one more in the fourth and stretched the lead out to 10-1 after five before Dordt plated a pair in the sixth.
Kyle Dieleman took the loss, going two innings and allowed eight hits and five runs. Daryl Visser went three innings of relief with five runs allowed on four hits and Nate De Wit worked the final two frames and gave up four runs on two hits and walked three while striking out two.
The Dordt offense was led by Travis De Jong's 4-4 day at the plate with a run batted in on four singles. Travis Feekes, Dillon Peters, Austin Turner, Evan Pheneger and Josh Bowers all had singles in the loss and Derek Peters, Bowers and Feekes all had a run scored.
Dordt is now 6-11 for the season and 3-5 in the GPAC while Hastings improves to 9-18 and 2-4. Dordt is scheduled to face Dakota Wesleyan on Friday, April 4 and will host Briar Cliff on Saturday, April 5.
