Dordt College Baseball vs. Morningside

(Sioux City, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender baseball team lost an 8-5 decision to Morningside on Monday, March 24 in a windswept early season contest. The Defenders scored two runs in the first inning on a Bobby Lutke single that plated Dillon Peters and Travis Feekes. The Mustangs came right back with five runs of their own in the bottom of the fifth but the visitors narrowed the gap to 5-4 with two more runs in the second innings with Austin Turner delivering a run scoring single and Travis Feekes knocked one in as well.
Dordt banged out ten hits with Feekes getting two and Bobby Lutke had two his and three runs batted in. Bryan Diemer took the loss for the Defenders, allowing 10 hits and eight earned runs in five and two-thirds innings while striking out two. Nate De Wit worked a perfect inning and a third with two hits allowed.
Dordt drops to 4-9 and 1-3 in the league while Morningside stays perfect at 4-0 in the GPAC and are 12-5 overall.
