Dordt College Baseball vs. Northwestern

(Orange City, Iowa) The Defender baseball team traveled to Orange City for nonconference play, losing 10-11 in 7 innings.

Dordt connected for 12 hits, scoring 10 runs with in an errorless game. Dillon Peters was good for three hits--two of them doubles with 2 RBI's, and 2 runs scored while 2nd baseman Jeremy Hilt went 3 for 4 with 1 run and 2 RBI's as well. Also batting runs in were Scott Van Zanten and Travis De Jong with one a piece and Nate Daane knocked in two and had a triple in the loss.

Credited with the win was Northwestern pitcher Kent Wallinga. Scott Van Zanten took the loss working in relief of Daryl Visser. The Defenders allowed six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to surrender the victory.
