Dordt College Baseball vs. Northwestern

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defenders lost an 11-0, six inning contest to the Northwestern Red Raiders in the opener of the twin bill Saturday afternoon at Open Space Park in Sioux Center.
The Defenders surrendered two in the first and three each in the second, fourth and sixth in piling up a ten-run-rule shortened contest. Northwestern banged out 13 hits against Dordt College pitching while Dordt's three hits were from Jeremy Hilt, Travis De Jong and Travis Feekes. Northwestern's Jake Koerselman was in command, allowing no bases on balls with three strikeouts in the complete game decision.
Dordt's Derek Peters, an emergency starter for coach Jeff Schouten's squad, took the loss, allowing five runs on five hits with five walks in an inning and two-thirds. Nate De Witt and Kyle Dieleman both pitched in relief and were not involved in the decision.
Northwestern's Jake Jansen was 3-4 at the plate with two runs batted in.
