Dordt College Baseball vs. Mount Marty

(Sioux Center, Iowa) Dordt was able to get more runs across in the second game of their double header but fell short and lost to Mount Marty 5-4.

Dordt started off hot in this one taking an early 3 run lead after 3 innings. Mount Marty was able to answer in innings 4 and 5 scoring 3 runs of their own. Dordt mounted a surge and scored another to take back the lead in the bottom of the fifth and led 4-3 through the 6th inning.

Mount Marty struck for two more in the top of the 7th on a bases loaded single to plate two runs and squeek out the eventual 5-4 decision.

Mount Marty scored 5 runs on 9 hits and made no errors. Dordt scored 4 runs on 8 hits and also committed no errors. Bobby Lutke and Dillon Peters both recorded 2 hits while Jeremy Hilt had 1 hit and tagged 2 rbis. Nate Daane pitched 7 innings, taking the loss, giving up 9 hits and 5 earned runs.

Dordt falls to 5-17, 3-9 in conference play while Mount Marty will move up to 18-10, an even .500 (6-6) in the conference.
