Dordt College Baseball vs. Rogers State

(Claremont, Oklahoma) The Dordt College Defender baseball team lost a 9-2 decision to a talented Rogers State team in Oklahoma on Monday. The Defenders scored first in the second inning only to have the Hillcats strike for five runs in the bottom of the inning. Rogers State slugged out two more runs in teh third and Dordt mustered one run in the fourth inning on the way to a the 9-2 loss.
Dordt got a solo homerun with a base on balls from Travis De Jong. Bobby Lutke was 2-3 at the plate and Daryl Visser was 1-3 with a single and run batted in. Dillon Peters scored Dordt's second run of the game and had a stolen base and a single. Dordt stranded six runners and Rogers State left seven on the basepaths.
Alex Janesn took the loss, going five innings with 13 hits allowed along wtih eight runs and one strikeout. Derek Greydanus pitched the final inning for Dordt and allowed a run on two walks, a hit and struck out one.
Dordt slips to 2-7 with the loss.
