Dordt College Baseball vs. Carleton

(Minneapolis, Minnesota (Metrodome)) The Dordt Defender baseball team wrapped up their two day road trip to Minneapolis on Saturday for a double header against Carleton in the Metrodome. Dordt struggled and lost the first game early this morning, 5-2.
Carleton opened up the scoring putting 5 runs on the board in the third inning on four hits and a Dordt College error off Defender starter Alex Jansen. Dordt was only able take 2 runs back in the fourth when Daryl Visser walked with the bases loaded to force in Dillon Peters and Derek Peters worked a walk as well with Travis De Jong scoring with two outs. The threat ended when Jeremy Hilt flew out to end the inning. Dordt's best opportunity for more offense came in the fifth when Travis De Jong singled and Bobby Lutke doubled with two outs but the third out was recorded before Dordt could get more offense back.
Dordt was lead by Travis De Jong who had 2 hits and scored a run and was followed by Dillon Peters who had a hit and a run. Alex Jansen was the losing pitcher giving up six hits and five runs--four of which were earned. The junior righthander had two strikeouts and two walks in the loss.
Dordt drops to 0-3 with the loss.
