(Sioux Center, Iowa) Dordt College earned a split with the Doane Tigers in GPAC baseball on Tuesday in Sioux Center.

The Defenders scored four runs in the first three frames and never trailed in winning their fifth game of the season. Nate Daane earned the win, working the first five and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and two runs. Daryl Visser finished up, earning the save, throwing no-hit ball over the final inning and a third. Jeremy Hilt, Jon Ledeboer, Dillon Peters and Travis De Jong all had two hits as the Defenders banged out 11 hits. The only extra base hit was a De Jong double. Peters had a pair of runs batted on two singles.

Mitch Vernon had a homerun for the Tigers and John Gadeken went the distance in the pitching loss.
