Dordt College Baseball vs. Northwest Oklahoma State-Phoenix Invitational

(Phoenix, Arizona) The Dordt College Defender baseball team went nine innings in game two of their doubleheader with Northwest Oklahoma State this afternoon in Phoenix, Arizona, but came up just short in the extra inning contest, 11-10.
Scott Boer led the Dordt College offense with a 2-4 day at the plate, two runs scored and three runs batted in. Jeff Zomer was 2-4 with a run and a run batted in. Jon Ledeboer and Chris Liebhart also had a pair of hits with Liebhart knocking in a run as well. The Defenders stranded nine runners and took advantage of five Northwestern Oklahoma errors in the game.
Alex Jansen started the game and went five innings on the mound, surrendering three runs on seven hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Darryl Visser took the loss in relief, working three and one-third innings while giving up eight hits, four runs, two walks and struck out one.
