Dordt College Baseball vs. Dakota Wesleyan

(Mitchell, South Dakota) The Dordt College Defender baseball team earned a split of their doubleheader at Mitchell, South Dakota against Dakota Wesleyan tonight with a 10-inning decision over the Tigers.
Dordt's Daryl Visser worked the last four and a third innings for the win while striking out two. Nate Daane started the game and went four innings. Alex Jansen also got work in relief. Just one of the Tigers' runs was earned.
Dillon Peters reached base five times, three times with hits and twice on walks, and scored a pair of runs. Brent Van Maanen, back in action after a shoulder injury that sidelined him for most of March, banged out three singles and had two runs batted in. Jeff Zomer was four for five at the pate with a run batted in and Jeremy Hilt also had a pair of hits, two runs scored and knocked a run in.
Dordt pushed the eventual game winner across in the top of the tenth when Jeremy Hilt singled to lead off the inning. Brandon Haan sacrificed Hilt to second and after a strikeout, Eric Van Maanen singled Hilt in from second base. Dordt is 4-6 in GPAC play while Dakota Wesleyan is 5-3 in the league.
