(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender baseball team lost an 8-4 baseball game in the nightcap of a doubleheader with the Hastings Broncos this Saturday afternoon.
The Defenders took a 4-2 lead after plating three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, plating two runs on a Derek Peters double. Hastings responded with a pair of runs in the sixth and then broke the tie with a grand slam off the bat of Kyle Kouzmanoff in the seventh inning.
Daryl Visser took the loss in relief of Brandon Haan.
