Coach Craig Heynen

Craig Heynen took the head coaching duties of the Dordt College track and field program in 2008 after serving as a professor in the physical education department at the University of South Dakota.

Heynen coached an individual and four relay teams to NAIA all-American status in 2008 and 2009. He coached a relay team to all American status in both the indoor and outdoor season in 2010 and he coached an individual to all-American honors at the outdoor meet in 2010.

Prior to his work at the University of South Dakota Heynen held various basketball and track and field coaching responsibilities at Mount Vernon Christian School (Washington) and San Jose Christian (California).

Heynen has an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Physical Education from the University of South Dakota. He earned his Master's degree at Emporia State University, and his bachelor's degree at Dordt College in 1990. While at Dordt College Heynen was a four year member of the track and field team. He earned most valuable athlete honors at Dordt in 1988 and 1990.

Heynen is a professor in the Dordt College health-physical education-recreation department.
