Stepanek was a member of the 2007 Michigan Division II State Champion team from Unity Christian that was 25-0-1. Earned Division II third-team all-state honors in the process while playing sweeper. Unity allowed 0.58 goals per game in 2007 and Stepanek also served as a team captain while taking all-conference, all-district and all-region honors. In 2006 Unity was the district and regional champion and advanced to the Division II state semifinals with Stepanek playing a right defender position. Stepanek has played extensively for the Georgetown Rangers Club Soccer team since 1999.
