Muller and Ray are Named Soccer Players-of-the-Week
(Week of October 8 - October 14, 2000)
Troy Ray of Nebraska Wesleyan
and Dordt’s Chris Muller have been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference
(GPAC) Players-of-the-Week in men’s soccer for games played October 8-14.
Muller, a senior goalkeeper
from Duncan, British Columbia, Canada, is the GPAC Defensive Player-of-the-Week.
Muller went the distance in goal as the Defenders upset Concordia, 1-0,
in an overtime
conference thriller. He not only recorded the shutout but he assisted
on the game-winning goal. Muller also turned in 75 strong minutes in goal
in Dordt’s 2-0 loss to Huron SD.
Dordt's record is now 2-13
for the season. The Defenders are 2-6 in the GPAC.

Mickelson and Stearns are Named Soccer Players-of-the-Week
(Week of October 1 - October 7, 2000)
Eric Stearns of Doane and Dordt’s Kent Mickelson have
been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Players-of-the-Week
in men’s soccer for games played October 1-7.
Mickelson, a freshman defender from Kelley, Iowa,
prevented three goals with outstanding individual plays in Dordt’s 0-2
week. He played extensively in both games, seeing action at both stopper
and sweeper for the Defenders.
Dordt dropped to 1-11 with the losses. The
Defenders are 1-5 in the GPAC.
