A first-year player from Redding, CA who brings a great deal of tournament experience from playing in California during his high school career. Mike enjoyed playing golf and being coached by his dad David. Mike’s strengths include his “Ernie Els” type swing that is smooth and long as well as his positive attitude.

A sophomore from Sioux Center, IA who competed on the golf team at Western Christian High School. This is Andrew’s first year on Dordt’s team and the strengths he brings to the team are enthusiasm and long-driving.

Collin Broekhuis
SO, Edgerton, Minnesota
A sophomore from Edgerton, MN who competed in 5 meets as a freshmen. He shot a tournament-low round of 78 at the Wayne State Invitational and had 2 top twenty-five finishes in 05-06. Collin returns for his second year of varsity golf with an eye toward cracking the top five on our roster. Collin’s strengths are his accuracy with his short irons and his ability to play in windy conditions.

A first-year player from Sioux Center, IA and a graduate of Unity Christian High school. Ben was a three-year varsity player at Unity and will bring a steady performer to the Dordt program.

A senior from Alton, IA who is beginning his first year in the golf program at Dordt. Elliot’s persistence and desire to be a part of the team will make him a positive asset for the program.

A sophomore from Pella, IA who competed in 3 meets as a freshmen. Lance worked hard on his golf game this summer and is looking to earn a regular spot on the playing roster. Lance’s strengths are his ability to find the fairway off the tee and his calm demeanor on the course.

Brian Eekhoff
JR, Manhattan, Montana
A junior from Manhattan, MT who is entering his third year on the varsity golf team. Brian competed in 12 events last year and finished with a scoring average of 80. Brian played a key role in Dordt finishing third in the GPAC conference meet and subsequently qualifying for the NAIA Region III meet in Elkorn, NE. Brian had 3 top ten finishes in the 05-06 season. Brian’s strength’s are his driving distance and his deft touch around the greens.

Jason Kroese
JR, Sioux Center, Iowa
A junior from Sioux Center, IA who has played a significant role on the varsity golf team his first two seasons. Jason played in 13 events in 05-06 and had a tournament low round of 73 at the GPAC conference meet. Jason was a consistent player in the #2 spot behind Jared Rempel and concluded the year with earning first-team GPAC All-Conference honors by scoring in the top ten medalist. Jason’s strengths include his driving game and putting.

A junior from Sioux Center, IA who begins his first semester of studies at Dordt as well as his first season on the golf team. Brady transfers to Dordt from Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls.

Tyler Lyon
FR, Poulsbo, Washington
A freshmen from Poulsbo, WA who begins his first season in the golf program. Tyler had a superb golf career at King’s West High School where he competed in two state tournaments, finishing 26th and 15th. Tyler’s strengths include his driving distance and his overall course management. Tyler will be adjusting to playing conditions in the Midwest that tend to be windy and courses that are more open than in Washington state.

Jared Rempel
SO, Chilliwack, British Columbia
A sophomore from Chilliwack, British Columbia, Jared is coming off a great freshmen season where he consistently played #1 on the varsity team. Jared played in 13 events last year and finished the season with team low scoring average of 78.2. Jared was voted onto the second team GPAC all-conference team after 5 top-ten finishes in 13 events. Jared is looking to lead the team to a high finish in the GPAC conference as well as earning a team spot in the NAIA Region III meet next spring. Jared has the ability to score well in all playing conditions and his consistent driving and short game are his strengths.

A junior from Eads, CO who begins his second season at Dordt. Ryan transferred to Dordt in 2005 after competing for two seasons at Lamar Community College, helping his team earn a spot in the junior college national tournament in 2005. Ryan competed in 4 events in 05-06 and is intent on competing for a spot in the top five on the Dordt squad. Ryan’s strengths are his positive attitude and accurate short game.

A junior from Pella, IA who begins his second season with the golf team. Jesse competed in a limited capacity as a freshman. He returns to the golf team with an eye toward posting some good scores and improving his overall game.

Joel Wiersma
JR, Randolph, Wisconsin
A junior from Randolph, Wisconsin, Joel consistently shoots in the low 80’s and is looking to shoot some scores in the 70’s this season. Joel’s strengths are his accuracy off the tee, course management, and a putter that is his favorite club in the bag.
