2010 FOOTBALL

2009…played in 11 games…had 19 solo and 48 assisted tackles…recovered two fumbles… Before Dordt…earned all-district honors in 2008 and was a three-year letter winner at Unity Christian (Iowa)…helped the fledgling program to an 8-1 regular season record and a berth in the Iowa High School post-season…was voted the team’s defensive most valuable player and captain while accumulating 13 solo and 17 assisted tackles in 2007 and 16 solo and 66 assisted stops in 2008…made 4.5 tackles for loss during his senior season and snagged two interceptions…claimed academic all-district and all-state honors during his career.

Before Dordt… played at Faith Christian High School (Colorado)…threw for 1302 yards on 70 completions in 123 attempts with 16 touchdown passes in 2008 and completed 79-148 passes in 2009…threw for 20 touchdowns in 2009 and ran for 847 yards and claimed first team all–state honors and was the state championship game most valuable player…was a second team all-state pick in 2008.

2009…14 solo and nine assisted tackles in eight games played…recovered one fumble…suffered a late season injury… 2008…six solo tackles and two assisted tackles in five games played… Before Dordt…earned all-state second-team honors on special teams, running back and defensive back while playing for Savage (Montana)…was a first-team all-conference pick in 2007 as well…an all-conference honoree in 2005 and 2006 at defensive back and earned honorable mention at quarterback in 2006.

Before Dordt…played for Tri-Cities Christian (Tennessee)…helped them to a runner-up state championship finish in the Christian Schools division…passed for over 2,000 yards during his career and threw for 31 touchdowns...attended Emory and Henry (Tennessee) during the 2009-2010 season and was on the football team.

2009…played in 11 games…32 solo and 26 assisted tackles…one interception and one break-up... 2008…had two solo tackles in three games played…. Before Dordt…a safety and quarterback at Sunshine Bible Academy (South Dakota)…made 133 tackles with five interceptions on defense…completed 155-285 passes for 2,205 yards for 25 touchdowns and rushed for 1,594 yards on 489 carries…19 touchdowns on the ground…earned academic all-state honors and was a first team All-281 Conference honoree as a senior…earned honorable mention from the 281 Conference in 2006...was the team captain in 2007.

2009…completed 65-146 passes for 649 yards and five touchdowns… 2008…suffered a season ending injury in the first game of the season… Before Dordt…quarterbacked at Unity Christian (Michigan) and was team captain while passing for 700 yards in 11 games…had seven touchdown passes in leading Unity to their first ever winning season and playoff appearance.

2009…played in three games… Before Dordt…high school play was limited due to injuries.

Before Dordt… a Valley View High School (Texas) graduate…passed for 973 yards, completing 70-145 passes and rushed for 203 yards on 42 carries…caught 17 passes for 245 yards…did a little of everything for Valley View with five kick returns for 71 yards and compiled 46 tackles on defense with two fumble recoveries…claimed Class 4A Academic All-State accolades…was a three time offensive player of the week and two time mvp in track.

2009…played in seven games….13 solo tackles and nine assisted stops… Before Dordt…lined up at quarterback, wide receiver, cornerback and punt returner during his career at Elmwood-Murdock (Nebraska)…rushed for 984 yards in 144 attempts in 2008…completed 89-145 passes for 1373 yards…passed for 15 touchdowns and rushed for 15…averaged nine yards per punt return and had two interceptions…earned all-district and all-conference honors as a senior and was a Class C-2 All-State Honorary Captain in 2008…was a two-time academic all-state selection and earned all-conference and all-district honorable mention honors in 2007.

2009…played in six games and had two solo and two assisted tackles… Before Dordt…totaled 79 tackles with 781 receiving yards while earning all-district notice three times at Western Christian (Iowa)…played both defensive back and wide receiver for the Wolfpack in 2006 and 2007 and played quarterback for the Wolfpack in 2008.

2009… Played in one game for the Defenders… Before Dordt…33 catches during his senior season at Covenant Christian Academy (Texas) for 564 yards with seven touchdowns and was named most valuable player…claimed first team all-district offense and second team all-district defense where he played both safety and wide receiver…earned second team all-state honors on defense with 27 solo tackles, 48 assisted tackles and returned five interceptions for 160 yards and a touchdown…Brabon earned honorable mention all-district honors in 2006.

2009…led the team with 45 solo tackles and 50 assisted stops…had 1.5 sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss with three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery…earned GPAC honorable mention… 2008…had 20 solo tackles and 14 assisted tackles in 8 games played… Before Dordt…2007 Kalamazoo Christian (Michigan) graduate, Postmus played linebacker, punter, punt returner, wide receiver and running back for the Comets and was a two-way starter for three seasons…recorded 60 tackles and had six pass interceptions at outside linebacker…served as team captain in 2007 while spearheading a defense that gave up just 52 points…rushed for over 1,000 yards and scored 20 touchdowns on the ground...was an all-conference honoree as a junior and senior and was a member of the all-area team in 2007.

Before Dordt…graduated from Alva High School (Oklahoma)…had 2090 career rushing yards at Alva and accumulated 260 career tackles and forced 12 fumbles…was the 2009 district running back of the year and was a Northwest OCA 2A All-Star…member of three state playoff teams.

2009…played nine games…had 11 solo tackles and four assisted tackles with one fumble recovery… Before Dordt…recorded 5.3 tackles per game during his junior and senior seasons at Unity Christian (Iowa)…intercepted two passes in 2006 and three in 2007 and earned three varsity letters.

2009…ran for 149 yards on 50 carries…played in nine games…caught five passes… Before Dordt…carried the football 194 times for 1478 yards—a 7.6 yards per carry average in 2008 at Unity Christian High School (Iowa)…caught seven passes for 165 yards…scored 20 touchdowns while earning all-district honors for the second year in a row…credited with 57 tackles and intercepted two passes on defense... handled the punting and kicking chores and had a 34.1 yards per punt average in 28 attempts.

Before Dordt… a graduate of Maranatha Christian School (California)…completed 46 passes for 801 yards with 18 touchdowns in 2009…caught three passes for 80 yards and was in on 36 tackles at defensive back…earned most valuable offensive player of the year honors in 2009…was elected first team CIF and earned three letters for Maranatha Christian in football.

2008…played center for the Defenders…earned all-GPAC honorable mention…had four solo tackles and one assisted stop on special teams… 2007…played in eight games on the offensive line during the club season… Before Dordt…earned all-state, all-conference, all-district and all-city honors playing for Edmond Memorial (Oklahoma).

Before Dordt…a graduate of Western Christian High School (Iowa)…played running back and linebacker for the Wolfpack in 2009 and helped them to a state playoff appearance…ran for 302 yards and had 61 receiving yards while scoring three touchdowns…accounted for 124 tackles during his high school career and had two interceptions and claimed all-district honors as a junior and senior.

Before Dordt… graduated from Western Christian High School (Iowa)…played left tackle last fall for the Wolfpack and helped them to a state playoff berth…earned all-academic honors from the district.

Before Dordt…prepped at Yucaipa High School (California)…played wide receiver and safety and had 60 tackles last season with three interceptions and blocked a field goal…caught seven passed for 24.3 yards per catch and one touchdown…earned second team all-conference honors.

2009…spent the season in the Dordt basketball program… Before Dordt…Captain for the Fulda High School (Minnesota) team

Before Dordt…graduated from Des Moines Christian (Iowa)… had 212 career solo tackles and 379 total career tackles at linebacker… ran for 700 yards on 153 carries and scored 12 touchdowns for the Lions in 2009…earned first team all-district honors on defense and second team all-district honors on offense in 2009…earned second team all-state honors from the Iowa Newspaper Association last season and served as a team captain.

Before Dordt…had ten quarterback sacks in 2008 for Willow Creek Composite (Alberta)…was chosen as a league all-star…served as captain in 2007 and 2008…earned team most valuable player honors in 2007.

2009….part of the regular rotation of offensive linemen Dordt used… 2008…played in all 11 games for the Defenders… Before Dordt…earned three letters for the Western Christian (Iowa) Wolfpack…earned all-district honors as a junior in 2006 and honorable mention accolades as a senior in 2007.

Before Dordt…attended Alameda High School…earned honorable mention all-conference honors for his play on the offensive line twice…was a four-year letterwinner in football and wrestling and lettered twice in track and field…two-time academic honoree.

2009…backup placekicker for the Defenders… 2008…placekicker for the Defenders… Before Dordt…first-team all-state pick in 2006 and 2007 and was a second-team all-state pick in 2005 for American Heritage Academy (Texas)…connected on 201-220 extra points and was 10-13 on field goals through his career for 231 total points..helped American Heritage Academy to a 2005 Texas State Championship.

Before Dordt… played for and attended Hebron High School (Texas)…was an all-district pick at center in 2009 and played that position and defensive end for Hebron.

Before Dordt…played for Western Christian High School (Iowa)….earned all-district honors for the Wolfpack while helping them to a state playoff berth…totaled 35 tackles.

Before Dordt…prepped at Edmond North High School (Oklahoma)…allowed no sacks at his position on the offensive line…was named all-city and earned three letters.

2009…played in six games for the Defenders…had four solo tackles, two assisted stops…recorded two quarterback sacks and one interception… Before Dordt…accumulated 111 tackles for Western Christian (Iowa) with two quarterback sacks, an interception and two fumble recoveries as Western advanced to the Iowa High School post-season for the first time in school history…was a first team all-district selection and graduated as the school’s career tackle leader.

Before Dordt…attended Unity Christian High School (Iowa)… made 150 tackles during his career with one interception and three fumble recoveries.. earned first team all-district honors and was a part of Unity’s first state playoff qualifying team in 2008.

Before Dordt…a Mount Vernon High School (South Dakota) graduate…played both offensive and defensive line and accumulated 70 tackles last season with two quarterback sacks, one fumble recovery and one interception…was a four-year letterwinner and was named to the 2009 South Dakota 9A All-State Football Team…earned first team all-conference honors from the Mid Dakota Conference in 2009 and was a member of four playoff qualifying teams.

2008….played on the offensive line for the Defenders in the first varsity year of the program… 2007…offensive lineman for the club season… Before Dordt…was an honorable mention all-district honoree as a senior at Unity Christian (Iowa )… played both on the offensive and defensive lines.

Before Dordt…Played two years on the offensive line for the Western Christian (Iowa) Wolfpack in 2006 and 2007.

2009…part of Dordt’s regular rotation of offensive lineman…part of Dordt’s first recruiting class… 2008…after an injury plagued 2007 Lyle appeared in six games for the Defenders on the offensive line... Before Dordt…voted Bishop Kelley’s (Oklahoma) lineman of the year in 2006.

2009…played in four games and accounted for four solo and 14 assisted tackles… 2008…had 8 solo tackles and 11 assisted tackles in four games played… Before Dordt…made 101 career tackles with three quarterback sacks and one blocked punt for the Mounds View (Minnesota) Mustangs…was a team captain for the 2007 Mounds View team that was 6-2 in regular season play and won their sectional in post-season play and qualified for the state quarterfinals.

Before Dordt… attended Spirit Lake High School (Iowa)…earned all-district honors this season after making 32 tackles with three tackles for loss.

2009…played eight games for the Defenders on the offensive line and at tight end… Before Dordt…played offensive and defensive line for Dallastown Area High School (Pennsylvania)…picked for the York County East/West All-Stars…awarded the Character Counts Sportsmanship Award for 2008.

Before Dordt…played football at Calvin Christian High School (California)…saw time at guard and defensive end…was named a first team all-conference pick on the offensive line and a second team all-county selection on the defensive line…was picked as his team’s lineman of the year…named one of the top-100 super sophomores by the San Diego Union Tribune in 2007.

Before Dordt…attended Western Christian High School (California)…earned second team all-league honors this fall…was named his team’s special team player of the year honor.

Before Dordt...Played for Azle High School (Texas).

Before Dordt…prepped at Boyden Hull High School (Iowa)…was an offensive and defensive lineman for the Class 2A state title runner-up Boyden Hull Rock Valley Nighthawks last season…had 14 solo and 22 assisted stops as a senior.

2009…bothered by injury much of the season….caught two passes in five games played… 2008…played in 10 of 11 games for the Defenders…caught 15 passes for 190 yards… Before Dordt…earned first-team all-district honors at cornerback for the Parish Episcopal Panthers (Texas) after making 21 solo tackles and assisting on 33 with nine pass breakups…earned 2nd team all-district honors at wide receiver where he made 17 catches for 388 yards—a 22.8 yards per game average with nine touchdown catches… claimed honorable mention all-state honors and played in the Tom Hillary Classic.

2009…led the Defenders in passes caught with 23 and receiving yards with 361…averaged 15.7 yards per catch and hauled in three scoring passes… 2008…played 5 games and had nine catches for 97 yards… Before Dordt…wide receiver at Milwaukee Lutheran (Wisconsin), Du Mez had 28 receptions for 402 yards and 8 touchdowns during the 2007 season... averaged 14.36 yards per catch and totaled 50 points and earned honorable mention honors in the North Shore Conference in 2007.

Before Dordt…graduated from Liberty-Eylau High School (Texas)…totaled 19 tackles with one pass breakup last season…team placed second in the district…won the Max Scholastic Award this season and the Norman Garrison Leadership Award.

Before Dordt…prepped at American Heritage Academy (Texas) where he played tight end, defensive end and was the long snapper on special teams…was named all-state and all-district and was a team captain…helped American Heritage Academy to a 2005 TAPPS state title.

Before Dordt…Attended the Netherlands Reformed Christian High School in Rock Valley, Iowa.

Before Dordt…attended West Lyon High School (Iowa)…earned first team all-state and all-district honors in 2009 and was a first team all-state pick by the Des Moines Register and a first team All-Northwest Iowa Review selection…served as a team captain as a senior and was a part of four district champion teams and state playoff qualifiers… West Lyon was the Class 1A State Runner-Up in 2008.

2009…played in two games and had one tackle for the Defenders… Before Dordt…was selected to play in the Idaho East-West Shriner’s All-Star game…had 42 tackles—eight of them for loss with three quarterback sacks, three forced fumbles and eight quarterback hurries while playing offensive and defensive line for Nampa Christian…claimed first team all-conference honors on both offense and defense…was a second-team all-state pick on both offense and defense as well…was a member of the Idaho Press-Tribune All-Area team in 2008.

Before Dordt… a graduate of Heritage Christian High School (Alaska)…school did not offer football…ran on a 4 x 800 meter relay team that qualified for the state meet in 2009 and 2010…qualified for the state meet in discus and the 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 meter relays.

2009…punted 68 times with a 39.8 yards per punt average…5-8 on field goals and 4-7 on point after attempts….longest field goal was 47 yards…earned GPAC honorable mention… 2008…handled the kickoffs for the Defenders… Before Dordt…attended Calvin Christian (California).

Before Dordt…played offensive and defensive line for Nampa Christian High School (Idaho).

Before Dordt…earned Manhattan High’s (Montana) top offensive lineman and top defensive player honors as a senior… recorded 75 tackles with 10 sacks as a senior… finished second in the state in the shot put and discus in 2008 for Manhattan Christian...spent two years in the Montana State program before transferring to Dordt College.
