Praised by performers (such as Pinchas Zukerman, Victor Yampolsky, and members of Rhythm & Brass) for its excellent acoustics, the B.J. Haan Auditorium is used for concerts, student recitals, rehearsals, and organ lessons. The auditorium houses a Steinway Model D and a Kawai nine-foot concert grand piano and an impressive 57-rank, 37-stop three-manual tracker action Casavant pipe organ.

Additionally, the auditorium contains a digital recording studio to make quality digital recordings of all concerts.

The Music Building houses spacious rooms for band, orchestra, and choir rehearsal; classrooms, faculty offices and studios; seventeen practice rooms; Schlicker and Casavant pipe organs; B.J. Haan Auditorium several grand and many studio pianos; a piano lab including a Yamaha Disklavier and five Yamaha Clavinovas; and a new Dekker harpsichord.

Recently relocated to the lower level of the Dordt College Library, the Listening Lab offers nearly 3,000 recordings, including recordings of Dordt College perfomances, for use by the entire student body.

Also located in the lower level of the Classroom Building, the Multimedia Lab allows students to use the latest in digital technology for composing and arranging. This lab includes 8 student stations running Mac OS X, each equipped with a Roland SK500 synthesizer, the professional notation program "Sibelius," and various other music software programs.

In addition, a new high-end Digital Audio Studio has been developed complete with a dual G5 computer, and software including Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Final Cut Pro, and Soundtrack.
