After graduating from Dordt College in 2000, Steve Van Wyk was hired as a graphic designer at Alexander Marketing Services in Grand Rapids, Mich. Van Wyk says the well-rounded training he received is preferable to one area of specialization. "People that can handle any job (brochures, web-sites, billboards, ads, pre-press) are highly sought after," says Van Wyk, who adds that he learned a lot during his college years by working with the college newspaper, yearbook, art journals, and in other freelance opportunities. "These activities teach you to be a well balanced artist," says Van Wyk.

Van Wyk was recently promoted to the position of Electronic Media Designer at Alexander Marketing Services. "Steve has been an extremely detailed and dedicated Graphic Designer since he first joined AMS," said Doug Wayner, Executive Art Director for Alexander Marketing Services. "These same qualities will certainly be an asset to his new position."
