Brandon Oldenkamp Memorial Menís Basketball Scholarship

This scholarship was funded by Robert and Linda Oldenkamp in memory of their son Brandon. Special consideration will be given to a player who has demonstrated continued improvement throughout his basketball career due to work ethic and commitment. All athletes who can make strong contributions to the Dordt College Menís Basketball Program will automatically be considered for this scholarship. The scholarship may be awarded alone or in conjunction with another athletic scholarship.

Brenda's Song — A Scholarship in the Worship Arts

Gordon Nyhof and Rachel Cain-Nyhof have established this scholarship for a student who intends to be involved in campus worship activities. Preference will be given to a student who plans to minor in Worship Arts. To be considered for this scholarship students must be full time students accepted in good academic standing. Financial need can be taken into consideration when selecting a recipient.

Defender Excellence in Athletics Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a top quality athlete who will contribute to excellence in the Dordt College Menís Basketball, Womenís Basketball, or Volleyball Program. Recipients must meet NAIA and GPAC guidelines for participation in the program. All athletes who can make strong contributions to the Dordt College Menís Basketball, Womenís Basketball, or Volleyball Program will automatically be considered for this scholarship. The scholarship may be awarded alone or in conjunction with another athletic scholarship.

Defender Gold Club Scholarships

This scholarship will be awarded to a top quality athlete who will contribute to excellence in Dordt College Athletics. Recipients must meet NAIA and GPAC guidelines for participation in the program. All athletes who can make strong contributions to the Dordt College Athletic Program will automatically be considered for this scholarship. The scholarship may be awarded alone or in conjunction with another athletic scholarship.

Dordt College Athletic Scholarships

Athletic scholarships are available for students who have contributed significantly to their high school athletic program and intend to actively participate in a Dordt College athletic program. Athletes may receive scholarships for more than one sport. The maximum total dollar amount for multiple sports scholarships is $12,000. Students interested in athletic scholarships should contact a Dordt College Admissions Counselor or the coach of the sport at which they excel. Athletic scholarships are renewable provided the student maintains the cumulative GPA required by the NAIA, and successfully contributes to the athletic program as determined by the athletic department coaches.

Dordt College Forensics Scholarships

Forensics Scholarships are available for students who have exhibited proficiency in speech or debate. The scholarships are awarded on a basis of merit proved through accomplishments in high school, but do not require participation on a team. These scholarships are renewable for an additional three consecutive years provided the recipient maintains a cumulative 2.00 GPA and is an active participant on the forensics team, as determined by the Director of Forensics in consultation with the other coaches.

Dordt College Journalism Scholarships

Student publications/journalism scholarships are available for students who contributed to the publication of their high school newspaper or other writing projects. Recipients need not be communication majors; however, they will be asked to enroll in the Introduction to Journalism course during their first year at Dordt College and are expected to participate in the publication of the Dordt College Diamond, a biweekly college student newspaper. An application form, three writing samples, and a recommendation from a person who can attest to the applicant's writing abilities are required. Journalism scholarships are renewable for an additional three consecutive years provided the recipient maintains a cumulative 2.00 GPA and is an active staff member of the Dordt College Diamond, as determined by the student newspaper's faculty advisor.

Dordt College Music Scholarships

Music scholarships are available for students who have contributed significantly to their high school or community music program and intend to actively participate in one or more of the following Dordt College music areas: vocal, instrumental or keyboard. Applicants need not be music majors; however, they must submit an application form and a music instructor's recommendation. Applicants must also audition in their chosen music area(s), following the criteria listed on the Music Scholarship Application. The audition can be accomplished in one of three ways: attending the annual on-campus Music Audition Days, scheduled January 20, to audition in person (contact the Admissions Office for details); scheduling an appointment with the Admissions Office to audition in person on a Dordt College Campus Visit Day; or submitting a recorded audition. The selected option must be completed by January 15. Music scholarships are renewable for an additional three consecutive years provided the recipient maintains a cumulative 2.00 GPA and successfully contributes to the music program as determined by the music department directors.

Dordt College Theatre Arts Scholarships

Theatre Arts Scholarships are available for students who have contributed significantly to their high school or community theatre arts programs and intend to actively participate in the Dordt College Theatre Arts program through acting and/or technical work. Applicants must submit an application form, audition materials, and a recommendation letter from a person familiar with their talents and skills in theatre arts. Scholarships are available for theatre majors, minors and non-majors. Theater Arts scholarships are renewable for an additional three consecutive years provided the recipient maintains a cumulative 2.00 GPA and completes the theatre scholarship requirements. Requirements include; taking one theatre course each year and completing required hours in two of the following areas: backstage crew, acting, costume crew, makeup crew, box office crew, set construction or design.

Halpert Baseball Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a top quality athlete who will contribute to excellence in the Dordt College Baseball Program. Recipients must meet NAIA and GPAC guidelines for participation in the baseball program. All athletes who can make strong contributions to the Dordt College Baseball Program will automatically be considered for this scholarship. The scholarship may be awarded alone or in conjunction with another athletic scholarship.

Janie M. Roos Memorial Women's Basketball Scholarship

This annual $5,000 scholarship is funded to encourage gifted women basketball athletes to attend Dordt College. Janie and her husband Ralph enthusiastically supported their three daughters Lynette, Lisa, and Lori as they played on the Dordt womenís basketball teams. All athletes who can make strong contributions to the Dordt College Womenís Basketball Program will automatically be considered for this scholarship. This scholarship may be awarded alone or in conjunction with another athletic scholarship.

Joe J. Dahm Memorial Music Scholarships

These one year scholarships will be awarded in one or more of the following areas: voice, instrumental, and keyboard. Scholarship recipients should take at least one music course for credit while attending Dordt College.

John and Frances Bonnema Memorial Music Scholarship

Mr. and Mrs. Bonnema established several scholarships to encourage Dordt College students in various majors. This scholarship encourages students to demonstrate Christian commitment and principles in the area of music. A 3.00 cumulative GPA is required.

Prins Insurance Inc. Men's Basketball Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a top quality athlete who will contribute to excellence in the Dordt College Menís Basketball Program. Recipients must meet NAIA and GPAC guidelines for participation in the menís basketball program. All athletes who can make strong contributions to the Dordt College Menís Basketball Program will automatically be considered for this scholarship. Rick Vander Berg Menís Basketball Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a top quality athlete who will contribute to excellence in the Dordt College Menís Basketball Program. Recipients must meet NAIA and GPAC guidelines for participation in the menís basketball program. All athletes who can make strong contributions to the Dordt College Menís Basketball Program will automatically be considered for this scholarship. The scholarship may be awarded alone or in conjunction with another athletic scholarship.

Ringerwole Piano Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student who demonstrates a high level of competence and potential as a future professional pianist. All students who submit application materials for a Dordt College Music Scholarship in the area of piano will automatically be considered for this scholarship.

Vanden Brink Freshman Music Scholarship

Kenneth and Dorothy Vanden Brink have funded this scholarship for an incoming freshman student who has been accepted in good academic standing. Recipients should intend to participate in music at Dordt College, but are not required to be music majors.
