Distinguished Scholar Awards

Twelve Distinguished Scholars are selected each year. Students with a 3.75 cumulative GPA and a 30 ACT (or 1980 SAT) composite score will be invited to a Dordt College Distinguished Scholar Day on Friday, February 3 during which a variety of activities related to academic interests will be presented. A written response to an essay question will be a required activity that day. Students who find it difficult to schedule this visit may write the essay under the supervision of their high school guidance counselor. Dordt College Admissions Counselors can answer specific questions about Distinguished Scholar awards.

Additional Information:
Renewable for an additional three consecutive years provided the recipient maintains a 3.50 cumulative GPA. These academic scholarships may replace a previously awarded Presidential Scholarship.

Dordt College Honors and Presidential Scholarships

Dordt College Honors and Presidential Scholarships are academic scholarships awarded to students with a 3.00 cumulative GPA and a 21 ACT (or 1450 SAT) composite score. Scholarships ranging $2,500-$4,500 are named Honors Scholarships and scholarships ranging $5,000-$8,000 are named Presidential Scholarships. There is no application process and the January 15 deadline date does not apply to these scholarships.

These scholarships are renewable for an additional three consecutive years, provided the recipient maintains a 3.00 cumulative grade point average.

Kuyper Scholarships

Students accepted into the Kuyper Scholars Program will be awarded a $2,000.00 Kuyper Scholarship. Eligibility requirements to apply for this program are a 3.50 cumulative GPA and a 28 ACT (or 1860 SAT) composite score. Final admittance will be based on an entrance essay and letters of recommendation. Interested students should apply through the college admissions office.

Renewable for an additional three consecutive years provided the recipient maintains a 3.25 cumulative GPA and is a successful, active participant in the Kuyper Scholars Program.
