Although Dordt College is located in Iowa, Dordt draws students from across North America and the world. Campus is filled with students from different places coming together into a tight-knit community. International Student Orientation

International Student Orientation (ISO) is your introduction to life as an international student at Dordt College! This orientation will help you adjust culturally, socially, and academically to life and studies in America.

You will do many things during ISO: hear from student panels, learn about the academic system at Dordt, set up a bank account, worship together, take English placements tests, play games, and meet many new friends! ISO will begin Thursday morning on August 18 and continue until Saturday morning, August 20.

Students Without Borders

Students Without Borders organizes events to promote and celebrate diversity on campus. You can become a member by signing up during the Taste of Sioux Center or by emailing spectrum@dordt.edu. Both American and international students are welcome and active in the club. Look for monthly events like bonfires, potlucks, and game nights, as well as campus-wide events such as the Cultural Fair and International Fashion Show. You’ll want to get involved!

Host Family Program

Because adjusting to life in America can be difficult, the International Office sets up American host families for the international students. These host families do not provide housing or financial support, but they are there to help make you feel welcome and involved in the life of a local family. Many students become close with their host families, and find that this is a wonderful addition to their life in America.
