THEOLOGY
Youth Ministry Program
The youth ministry program at Dordt College provides a distinctly Reformed perspective for men and women seeking to impact young people as youth ministers or Christian educators. Our focus is to equip youth ministers with the theological and practical tools necessary for faithful and effective service in churches and youth organizations. An important part of this process is an engagement of the cultural forces that work to shape young people, unmasking what Paul refers to as the "powers" by proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, and bringing young people into the life of the church.
The Dordt College youth ministry program is a professional program within the context of a Christian liberal arts education. Upon the completion of two courses: Perspectives in Biblical Theology and Discernment for Ministry, students may apply for entrance into the youth ministry program.
The youth ministry program consists of the following core requirements:
252 Liturgy and Worship
253 Engaging Culture
254 Teaching Bible to Adolescents
351 Ecclesiology
352 Practical Issues in Ministry
