HISTORY

Curriculum

The history curriculum provides an introductory Western Culture and Worldviews course and a range of survey courses on Latin American, American, Canadian, European, Muslim, and Far Eastern societies and cultures. Classes span from ancient history to modern day.

Students also benefit from in-depth upper level studies in American, European, and Middle Eastern history, such as U.S. Civil War and Reconstruction, History of Calvinism, and the Modern Middle East.

The curriculum also includes courses to help students become aware of the historian’s task. Introduction to Historical Studies develops the foundational skills of analytical writing and research. Historiography helps students develop a Christian perspective on history and understand historical interpretation. The Senior Seminar challenges students to develop their reading, writing, and presentation skills.
