An English degree from Dordt College allows students to use their gifts in education, writing, research, or graduate school. Many of our graduates go on to pursue further study in law school, seminary, writing, or publishing. Students also become teachers, editors, and communication professionals.
Here is a sampling of what our graduates are up to:
Julie Ooms (2008)—Studying for her Masters in English at Baylor University
Cheryl Hiemstra (2008)—Studying law at Williamette University School of Law in Salem, Oregon
Andrew De Young (2005)—Works for Augsburg Press in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and recently started his own independent publishing company, Replacement Press
Phyllis Alberts-Meijers (1998)—Works as a teacher and one of the founders of Unity Christian High School in Barrie, Ontario
