CREATE A PROGRAM
Two-Year Option
Dordt also offers a two-year associate of arts (A.A.) degree program with a concentration in general studies. Along with your general education requirements and electives, a concentration in general studies requires you to select one of the following options to complete your A.A. degree:
- six courses from one department.
- three courses from one department and three courses from another department in the same academic division.
- four courses from one department and three courses from a department in another division.
- a combination of eight courses that has been designed with and approved by the registrar to meet your specific educational goals.
“The two-year degree in general studies is a good option for students who aren’t sure if a four-year degree is right for them. Students graduating with an A.A. in general studies have found positions as diverse as insurance salesperson, bank teller, and nursing home aide. Others earn their A.A. degree, then decide to go on for a bachelor’s degree. The general studies option allows that flexibility.”
